Green-Schools at Dulargy N.S.

The Green-Schools Programme encourages schools and communities to work together to protect our planet and develop a greater understanding of our shared environment. At Dulargy N.S., we are proud to be part of the Green-Schools initiative and are committed to creating an environmentally friendly school community where pupils and staff can learn about, appreciate and care for the world around us.

Throughout the school, we have introduced a range of initiatives to promote environmental awareness and sustainability, including:

Recycling and Waste Management: Recycling bins for plastic, cardboard and compostable waste are available throughout the school, encouraging everyone to reduce waste and recycle responsibly.
Outdoor School Garden: Our beautiful outdoor garden provides pupils with a peaceful space to sit, relax and explore. It also includes our outdoor classroom, providing opportunities for learning and connecting with nature.
Spring Planters and Flower Pots: Colourful planters and flower pots can be found throughout the school grounds. These are filled with a variety of bulbs and flowers, bringing colour and life to the school during the spring and summer months.
Biodiversity Projects: Our pupils take part in projects that help them explore and understand the plants, animals and habitats found in our local environment.
Pollination and Nature Projects: We continue to develop projects that support biodiversity and encourage pupils to learn about the importance of pollinators and protecting our natural environment.
Energy Saving: We have promoted walking and cycling to school.

Through these initiatives, we aim to help our pupils develop a sense of responsibility for the environment and understand how small actions can make a positive difference.
