GAA at Dulargy N.S.

There is a vibrant and enthusiastic GAA community at Dulargy N.S., with Gaelic games playing an important role in school life. We are extremely fortunate to have the support of St. Patrick’s GAA Club, whose specialised coaches provide high-quality coaching and training to pupils throughout the school. This coaching takes place every Thursday, with all classes participating on a rotational basis. We are very grateful to the coaches and St. Patrick’s GAA Club for their continued support and commitment to developing Gaelic games in our school.

The boys and girls in 5th and 6th Class also have the opportunity to represent Dulargy N.S. in the Cumann na mBunscol GAA competition. Cumann na mBunscol aims to promote Gaelic games in an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment and to encourage Gaelic games as the games of choice in primary schools.

The competition provides our pupils with the opportunity to play against other local schools in a friendly and enjoyable environment. It helps the children to develop their football skills while also promoting important values such as teamwork, respect, fair play and sportsmanship.

Our school has enjoyed considerable success in the competition to date, and the children are always delighted to have the opportunity to represent Dulargy N.S. and compete alongside their friends. We are very proud of their enthusiasm, commitment and sporting spirit.
