Seachtain na Gaeilge is an international Irish language festival and one of the biggest celebrations of our native language and culture that takes place each year in Ireland and in many other countries. Here at Dulargy N.S we also took part in the Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations. We hosted a Lá Glas in the school where all children were invited to wear green clothes to school. The children learn a selection of Irish dances throughout Sechtain na Gaeilge and performthem in the Community Centre at a céilí on Lá Glas. The children also perform a selection of Irish songs for one another on the day too from “The Haka” and “ The Da Do ron ron” as ghaeilge. Lots of Irish games, crafts and activities are undertaken in the various classes throughout the school to promote our native language, culture and traditions. Well done to all teachers for the wonderful work they complete with their classes.
