Dulargy N.S. is a catholic ethos school. Catholic Schools are inclusive schools founded on the principles of equality, respect and love. Pope Francis reminds us that the first proclamation that must ring out over and over in our Religious education is that “Jesus Christ loves you.” The aim of Religious Education in Dulargy N.S. is principally to help children mature in relation to their spiritual, moral and religious lives, through their encounter with, exploration and celebration of the Catholic faith.

The children across all class levels engage with the Grow in Love Religion Programme. The Grow in Love series has been produced by Veritas and is fully approved by the Irish Catholic Bishops Conference. The Grow in Love series aims to help children to see how they can respond to God’s love through love: by doing acts of love that mirror the actions of Jesus. It is a colourful and fun way for the children and families to learn about faith, both in school and at home.

In Dulargy N.S the children partake in prayerfulness each day, they engage with religion lessons reflecting the Liturgical seasons and calendar of the church. There are also sacred spaces in each classroom where the children can display their work. The children in 2nd class and 6th class are especially busy at the moment preparing for their sacraments of First Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. These sacraments are being hosted in Our Lady of the Wayside Church, Jenkinstown.
