Yard Disco & Jersey Competition

Today at school the children were treated to a yard disco. Luckily the weather was good for the event and the children had great fun at their lunch break. So much so that when the bell rang they could not believe that lunchtime was over!! Perhaps we might organise another yard disco before the end of the year!

Design a jersey Competition:

Well done to the children who won the competition for designing a football jersey. There were so many fabulous entries. It was a very difficult decision to choose the winners. Winners in each class were:

Junior Infants: Patrick and EibhlĂn

Senior Infants: Darragh and Muireann

1st Class: Jack and Leah

2nd Class: Marcus and Sadie

3rd Class: Daire and Teagan

4th Class: VJ and Cara

5th Class: Henry and Iona

6th Class: Noah and Niamh

Active Schools – Special Visitor

The children were star struck at Dulargy National School today when Ryan O’ Kane visited them to discuss his career as a player for Dundalk FC and answer any questions that they had. Ryan launched a colouring competition in the school with marvellous football prizes to be won at the end of Active Schools Week. Ryan signed numerous autographs and took the time to be photographed with all of the children. We were privileged to have him visit our school.

Walk on Wednesday

The Green School Committee are promoting the National Walk to School Week. This takes place this year from October 2nd-6th, 2023. This week is all about celebrating walking as a positive mode for school journeys. Dulargy National School celebrated this week and worked to make it the most inclusive walk to school week yet!

Walk on Wednesdays are days where everyone tries to walk or park and stride to school if they can. Please join us on National Walk to School Day (National WOW Day!) on Wednesday 4th October.

Ground Football League 2023

The Ground Football League was organised by Mr. Rafferty for the boys and girls from 4th, 5th and 6th class. The children participated in a host of football matches at lunchtime in school. They displayed great ability, sportsmanship and took active part in the competition. The runners up and winners were presented with their medals and the Harry Marron Cup on the final day of school. Well done to everyone involved!

Basketball Blitz 2023

The children in 4th, 5th and 6th class from Dulargy National School participated in a Basketball blitz organised by Ms. Mathews during the month of June. There was very stiff competition throughout the blitz. The children displayed great sportsmanship throughout the month and really enjoyed the competitions. The runners up and winners were presented with their medals at the Graduation Ceremony on the final day of school. Well done to everyone involved!

Glenmore Athletics Sports

Children from all classes in the school participated in the Glenmore Athletics Sports Day that was held in Bush Post Primary Race track on the 27th of April 2023. Throughout the week the children participated in many sports events at school as part of Active Schools Week to help prepare them for the Cooley Peninsula interschool competition. Luckily, the weather held up and there was a great turn out on the evening. Lots of children took part in the various races and javelin activities. Congratulations to all who took part and helped bring the Jim Savage Cup back to Dulargy NS. The school were the overall winners!

Preparing for Active Schools Week

The children have been outside on the top field enjoying the sunny days at break and lunchtime this week. They can continue doing this if the weather remains good. They have been busy exercising and preparing for Active Schools Week which will culminate with the Glenmore Athletics Sports Day which takes place on the Glenmore Race track at Bush Post Primary.
